I nearly lost the top of my little pinkie today! While zipping through the fabric with my rotary cutter, I suddenly realized I’d made a careless mistake. But whew!…it just got the nail and the tiniest sliver of finger….no blood…no pain…and one very lucky me!
There are safer ways to trim ones nails so I will slow down and be more careful now.

A lesson to be learned for all of us reading this.
Whew, Annette! That little quilting angel sitting on your shoulder was definitely looking out for you.
That was a close call and could have been a lot worse. Count your blessings it was not worse.
That WAS close.
you are lucky....those rotary cutters can be tricky
Ouch...yes please slow down...those bows you made are adorable...I'm going to have to go make some of those for my great niece!
Ouch Annette -- be careful!
I feel a shiver down my spine !
Have a nice careful day .
Best wishes from France
You are the second person I have read about with a rotary cutter injury this week!
Ouch!!
whew glad it wasn't worse. I had a student cut her finger really bad in class. I felt horrible.
Someone was looking over your shoulder! That was a close call....
Oh my!
Ouch! I'm glad it wasn't more severe. I did that to my finger a few years back. Mine was a little worse which resulted in a trip to the emergency room. They gave me a block on both sides of the finger and cut the remainder of the skin off. I've seen it happen to other people, but never thought I'd do it myself. I purchased a guard for my rulers and hopefully it will never happen again.
Oh, Annette, I'm glad you did not hurt your finger badly! I've did it once and still today the finger mail grows a bit odd at that place, isn't that strange?
So glad that ou didn't hurt yourself Annette!
Micki
oh! darn Last night I went over my left hand with my cutter. I hate getting blood on fabric!
So glad you didn't do any damage!
wow that was a close call!! i've actually done worse damage with the needle of the sewing machine than with the rotary cutter so far... i swear i met the age requirements to be operating these things!! lol. thanks for sharing!
