I love this old yellow quilt

You know I love yellow…

046

and I love hexie flowers…

  045

I really like reproduction prints…but these are the real thing.

057

I love this quilt!

023

It’s all hand stitched and hand quilted.

My daughter and son-in-law were cleaning out stuff when they came across this old quilt that no one wanted.  They gave it to me and I am thrilled!  I’m hoping I can find out a little about it’s history.  That would be fun but so far no one knows where it came from.

In the meantime, I’m still working on my own hexies. I have 22 flowers complete with more ready to go.

And they mean just a little bit more to me now.  Perhaps, if I finish it, one day my quilt will be found, old and worn, and someone will appreciate all those tiny stitches and the love that went into it.  That would make me happy.

That's a lovely quilt! Great to have inspiration for your hexagons, which are looking terrific!

The quilt is beautiful! How lucky are you! I just stared at the picture for the longest time.
I am also working with hex's. I just love the feel of the fabric in my hands as I make each stitch. Hopefully our work will be passed on and on.
I do hope you can find some history on your quilt. That would be awesome.
Enjoy your prize possesion.

What a beautiful found treasure. This is why labels are important--and I really dislike making labels.

I can see why you love it!! I would too. Yellow is a great color for the background. I have mine started with a white background. Looking forward to seeing yours completed.

Aaaahhh...I love the yellow hexie quilt too! Looks like lots of love went into making it and I'm glad that you have it now.

Your stack of hexie flowers are growing and also they are tempting me to start some, but I'll keep enjoying others for now.

What a beautiful old quilt. How lucky for it to have been found and given to someone who appreciates it. I hope you are able to find out a little bit more about it and it just goes to show that we should be labelling everything we make with lots of details.

Your hexies look beautiful.

My most prized and loved quilt is a Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt that is signed and dated 1923. It too is hand quilted and is absolutely gorgeous.

Yours will be loved and appreciated by someone in the next generation(s) as well, Annette. I promise you that!

It is a lovely quilt and nice of them to think of you. Your flowers are very pretty too. Just make sure you put a label on your quilt so someone will know who made it.:D

Your own hexagon flowers are beautiful, too! Can't wait to see what they look like together.

I adore Grandmother's Flower Garden blocks because it is the last thing my own Grandmother and I worked on before she passed away...and the yellow makes it especially beautiful....thank you for the smile today

What a lucky find...it is gorgeous and I'm sure the maker, who ever she was, would be thrilled another quilter is going to take care of her quilt.
