Over half way and still stitching.

I won’t have this quilt finished before my birthday, which was my original challenge to myself, but that’s okay. If I had, the fun would be over too soon anyway, I figure. This way I still get to keep on sewing. I have enjoyed every stitch I’ve put into this quilt and am over half way done. So I am moving along. Life’s adventures and some other tempting projects slowed me down some but I will have it finished soon…at least by Thanksgiving…do you think I can reach this new challenge?

After the dust has settled

Last weekend my husband, Craig, and I stopped by a garage sale and I met the work table of my dreams. I bought it, even though I had no idea how it was going to fit into my already full sewing room. This led to a whirlwind of rearranging furniture and STUFF, not only in my room but other rooms too, and painting and cleaning. After many days, its all done, the table fits beautifully and I'm very happy with it.

Even tackling this extra big project, I still managed to get my stitching in and completed another quilt block. I have other things to work on as well so I may have to slow down a little...but I'm not stopping. My sister, Holly, gave me a goal to have it finished by my birthday in September and I'm shooting for that.

Enjoying the Butterflies and Flowers

Maybe its just because I'm having so much fun with it, but this quilt is coming along much faster than I thought it would. I admit I take every spare moment I find to work on it and because it has so many different elements, it keeps me intrigued. One minute I'm matching fabrics, next I am embroidering, then on to applique and all of a sudden I find that its all coming together and I'm ready to start matching fabrics again. I finished block one and am almost finished with the second one.

Beautiful Butterflies

When I saw this quilt....it was love at first sight. It has everything: patchwork, applique, embroidery, hearts, flowers and butterflies. Finally today my pattern arrived in the mail and right away I was sorting through my stash looking for just the right fabrics to use. It will take me a while to make, I know, but it will be worth it. It is just gorgeous!
