yummy jam, a sewing box and little houses…

009 I’ve been busy picking cherries off the tree by our patio and turning them into Sour Cherry Jam….oh soooo delicious!!  A touch of tart with a little sweetness.

003

And this sewing box that Mr. Sunshine and I bought when we were in Astoria, Oregon (where we dove into an antique shop to get out of the rain and found it)…

020   I took it all apart and have been sanding it down and getting it ready to refinish.

And I’m back to my houses again.  I reworked my center block a little…found a couple to put in the window and added a sentiment that feels like the theme of this quilt.

My house total for end of June is 295 houses.

Only 71 more to go.

It’s getting exciting!!

WOW - what a great post! The jam looks beautiful - the sewing box is just beautiful - and the houses are AMAZING! I bet the original creator of that sewing box is looking down from heaven with admiration :)

I've never had cherry jam but my mouth is certainly watering (especially because it's tart) LOL

YUM!!!!

And, your houses look yummy, too.

We gave my MIL a sewing box like the one you found. I can't count the number of times I've wished I had it. It was tossed after she passed away. :-(

That sewing box is amazing, what a find, it was meant to be!

Only 71 more houses to go, yes I think you'll make it! I've loved watching these houses come together, I'll be sad when you're done!

OH Happy to see the house progress! I started a house quilt a while back but my neighborhood looks gloomy and dull compared to yours. I will rethink adding some really cute ones in the mix.......love seeing your project and am reinspired. Butterfly George

My mom had that same sewing box. I think my sister has it now. Good memories.

I have never tried this jam - it sounds delicious! Love your centre house - great sentiment - maybe I could borrow that saying when I get to that block? Isn't the sewing box lovely? I wonder what it has held over the years?! (A shame it came empty I guess)
