Finished Quilts:

Dear Jane Glass… half full or half empty?

009A small note to myself reminds me that I began my Dear Jane Journey a year and two months (or so) ago.

My swatch chart shows that I have completed 75 blocks.  So many beautiful blocks.  I need to get their pictures taken and posted

After a year, I am only nearly half way there.  But I’m enjoying the journey and feel I’ve made good progress…  “Glass half full!”

  1. What a great chart to keep track of your Dear Jane progress. I think the Glass Half Full is the best way to look at things. Congrats on what you have accomplished.

  2. It seems to me that a 'Dear Jane ' quilt should be viewed as a journey and probably one of learning. Enjoy the rest of your journey.

  4. I'm so happy you're enjoying the journey. Sometimes we get in such a hurry to finish that we lose sight of the process. Can't wait to see some of your blocks!

  6. What a great way to keep track of your completed blocks. I don't think Dear Jane is a quilt you rush to make...how satisfying it'll be when it's done.

  9. What a clever way to keep track of the fabrics used. I did repeat fabrics (and I'm guessing you aren't) but it might have been nice to plan colors better. On the other hand I've put mine together in a totally different setting so I could arrange the blocks the way they looked best. Good luck on the rest of your journey. I still need to quilt mine.

  11. Your glass is absolutely half full, Annette. Stay positive and it'll get done in time. That's the way I am with my Grandmother's Flower Garden. I knew that it would be a looooong WIP and that's exactly what it is and will get done in time.

  14. You've got a great attitude about making a Dear Jane quilt and I'm sure you'll get there in your time. I loved making my first Dear Jane and it was a journey, one that I'm so thankful for. When I finished making mine I missed it so much that now I'm on another DJ journey!! lol

  15. I'm with Barb, I'm impressed with anyone who takes on a Dear Jane quilt. What an accomplishment to finish half of the blocks. Love the chart and good for you for being so positive through the process.
