Sisters

Today I finished another Jo’s Little Women Club quilt called “Sisters”.

It’s 12 inches square.  The women in the center were a challenge as each sister is about an inch in size and very detailed.  I just about went blind trying to stitch that tiny!

This quilt has extra special meaning for me because I grew up as one of four sisters.

This is me (far left) and my younger sisters 35 or so years ago.  I hope my sisters are okay with me posting this.  We don’t get pictures together anymore as we live so far away from each other and especially since my youngest sister has passed away (far right).  So pictures like this with us together mean a lot to me.  But my two sisters and I do keep in close touch with each other through email.

    What a lovely tribute. I too am one of four sisters and had never thought of creating a quilt stitched with all of us in it. A great idea - thankyou.

    Oh Annette the 2 pics of you and your sisters were very sweet. I have 4 sisters so I have that same feeling, and then having 7 daughters, it is just more of the same. We get together now and then but not as often as when my parents were around. I love your sisters quilt. So sweet. Gives me some ideas.

    I only have brothers and am envious of my girlfriends who have close relationships with their sisters. What a lovely post. How sad to lose the youngest sister first.

    Your mini quilt is lovely, and I think it may be my favorite!

    A wonderful little quilt is very special meaning. Smaller is always cuter but I can't imagine the fussiness of making a quilt 12"...especially the stitchery part.

    I loved your pictures of you and your sisters. I too came from a family of 4 sisters but we had 3 brothers. I have two sisers and one brother left. My pictures of all of us are very special to me and I especially treasure the holiday ones when we opened gifts! It was so much fun!
