It’s been fun watching our children settle down to family life in their own houses….which happen to be lots bigger than our house. Of course we are quite comfy in our home of 25 years and hope to live out our days here.
I saw this quote the other day and it got me to thinking. So I found a pattern for a tiny 3 1/2 inch house in the book, Little Bits of Whimsy, by Kathleen Brooks. I stitched everything together and now have this hanging on a wall in our humble little house.

ReplyDeleteLovely! We have a little house - it is actually supposed to be two bedrooms, but we made 2 small bedrooms in the basement, there are 6 of us... :o))) I wouldn't have it any other way! Your little house wallhanging is perfect!
ReplyDeleteCharming, sweet, true, and wonderful. Home is a great place, where ever it is. I know the trend has been bigger is better but I see my kids wanting smaller and more affordable and that makes me happy. We have a big home - well we had 8 children - but really sometimes maintaining the house gets so expensive and complex. I don't want to move and I do like space but since our yard is over an acre and 1/3 it does get hard to do sometimes. Yours sounds just right.

ReplyDeleteWhat a teensy little house! I love it! I have a big house now, which is great with kids and pets and visitors staying for months at a time, but one day, I envision myself and my hubby in a cozy little cottage, getting old together...
